"Results indicated that parent-child similarity is primarily due to shared genetic makeup."
It is well established that the values of children are similar to their parents beyond random variation. It has always been assumed that the correlation was primarily due to parents 'socializing' their children. This is part of the reason why Liberal elites have considered it so important to take over education and to overtly socialize children to 'liberal values'. This twin study based research result indicates that parents actually have little influence on the values structure of their children. From the Abstract, "These findings provide less evidence for value socialization in families contributing to intra-familial similarity in value priorities beyond genetic similarity".
It is also well established that people who are 'Liberals' have a fertility rate 1.0 lower than 'Conservatives'. With a total fertility rate in the U.S. of about 1.8, "Liberals', at around 1.3 fertility rate, are extinguishing rate while 'Conservatives' at 2.3 fertility rate will actually have a growing population. If 'Liberals' cannot reliably turn the children of 'Conservatives' through the differential influence that they control in schools, entertainment, etc. it would appear that, in the end, 'Conservatives' will win the culture wars simply by outproducing 'Liberals'.
Is this the reason that 'Liberals' are so adamantly supporting the huge influx of unauthorized residents into the U.S.? Is there assumption that these new residents have high birth rates and a more 'Liberal' set of values? One of my persistent messages is 'Everything is multivariant'. In other words, there is likely more than one reason for the 'Liberal' support of unrestrained immigration in the U.S. However, it seems likely that, for the more contemplative members of the 'Liberal' movement, this is one of the factors.
I would not exempt the EU from similar motives when considering the liberal support for immigrants from the Middle East. In other words, the assumption might have been that their voting preferences, once they obtained citizenship, and that of their children would be reliably 'Liberal'.
In both the U.S. with regard to the flood of immigrants over its southern border and in the EU from the Middle East, the assumption may be significantly wrong. It is probably true in both cases that the immigrants will vote reliably for the Party that allowed them in, but in both the cases of Central and South America and the Middle East, their actual cultural values are more 'Conservative' than 'Liberal'. In other words, any political advantage gained may be short lived.
This is being seen in the Hispanic population that, over the last five or six years, the political affiliation is coming more into conformity with their conservative cultural values.
P.S. I put 'Liberal' and 'Conservative' terms in parentheses to emphasize that these are primarily political terms that have some similarity to, but not congruence with, culturally conservative and liberal.
Hi all, I live in Canada. And the article " The Inappropriately Excluded " is really something that deeply resonates with me, and has helped make sense of my life. That I've been going back to it for years as a reference. But today found out there is this meetup group. Excellent stuff!
So I'm wondering what are people's interests here?
I like transition planning, and how we'll get through the end of oil,
archival of important documents, talking to international advisors and politicians about it. Also run several businesses. And do a lot of religious stuff,
cause that's best way of connecting with the uh IQ challenged majority in terms they can understand. So for that I run anabaptist.ca and got like outreach for all sorts of faiths, like humanism, islam, communists, chinese, hindus, christians etc: https://anabaptist.ca/dyet/
Hi! Just joined. I discovered this group through the Inappropriatelt Excluded article and it hit home. Looks very interesting :)
After Dobbs v Jackson, people are saying they want to move to Canada? Why? There is no part of Canada that allows abortion after 23 weeks. And, of course, nowhere in Europe are abortions legal after 24 weeks. So, if one really feels that access abortion is so important, the best thing to do is move to California. It has the most Progressive abortion laws pretty much anywhere, save China, North Korea, and Vietnam. Honestly, if this is your thing, then you should move to California. Whatever state you are in, they will celebrate your departure.
